About Me

My name is Curtis Meliefste: my passion is youth ministry. I work full-time and study youth ministry part-time at Vanguard College.

I went through most of my junior high and high school years without a youth leader; looking back I realize the need for leaders in the lives of youth. I made a lot of mistakes growing up, but by God’s grace He has used those mistakes to teach me.

God called me to youth ministry a few years ago and I have never looked back. I love to spend my time working with young people and journeying with them as they discover their faith. I attend Inglewood Christian Reformed Church in Edmonton, Alberta, where I lead a grade 7 small group, and coordinate the boys club. I work closely with Inglewood’s youth pastor to strengthen the ministry and learn from his experience.

I was married on July 2, 2011 to my wonderful wife Nicole. She also has a passion for youth ministry and together we are following God’s call on our lives. She is a massage therapist and is my greatest helper and supporter in ministry.

On this blog you will be find a weekly account of my adventures in youth ministry and what I’m learning.  I’d love to hear from you so please comment on my posts or email me.

Thanks for reading,
